International Conference “Sustainable cooperation in the energy sector – an important prerequisite for global development” dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, and to energy diplomacy of Turkmenistan was held on December 1.
The conference, which was held in the conference hall of the Scientific Research Institute under the State Concern “Turkmengaz” brought together over 220 delegates from 70 companies, 123 of which participated online.
The agenda of the conference included sessions on: sustainable energy cooperation, Turkmenistan's energy diplomacy, financial institutions etc. It is encouraging that along with major energy companies such as CNPC, LUKOIL, PETRONAS, , DRAGON OIL, representatives of prominent international organizations IGU, GECF, and leading international financial institutions participated in the conference.

More than 220 delegates, representing 70 companies and organizations from 32 countries participated in the conference including Secretary General of the International Gas Union, Global Gas Center, as well as heads of international organizations and leading oil and gas companies.
The Ministry of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan (Turkmen. Nebit we Gaz ministrligi) is the central executive body of Turkmenistan, which was responsible for the formation of state policy, coordination of the management process in the areas of the oil and gas, petrochemical industries, transportation of hydrocarbons from 1991 to 2016. This ministry included the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan.
