The delegation of Turkmenistan visited the Free Economic Zone Alat in Azerbaijan

The Turkmen delegation, which is in Azerbaijan, visited the Free Economic Zone of Alat (AFEZ), where it held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of AFEZ Valeh Aleskerov. ORIENT was informed about this at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan. The delegation of Turkmenistan included leaders representing a number of public and private structures in the field of transport, logistics and trade. Aleskerov provided detailed information on the activities of the free economic zone and urged Turkmen investors to take advantage of the favorable conditions available in AFEZ. The meeting discussed the strategic geographical location of the zone, a package of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, a unique legal framework, land plots with ready-to-use infrastructure, transport and logistics centers. The delegation of Turkmenistan also visited the Baku International Commercial Sea Port. The purpose of the trip is to search for opportunities to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in increasing cargo transportation between Central Asia and Europe. For Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, which have a favorable geographical location, the development of transport and transit infrastructure is of particular importance. Based on this, the countries are consistently increasing their transport potential, initiating and implementing major international and regional transport projects designed to bring international economic and trade cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
