Kazakhstan intends to increase cargo traffic through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor). This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the first Summit "Central Asia + Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf" in Jeddah. So, by 2030, the country plans to increase the cargo flow to 500 thousand containers per year. According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan attaches priority attention to building the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries.
