Chakiev Mammetkhan graduated from the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communication, with Engineering and Economics degree. He started his career as an Accountant of Akhalteke Equestrian Complex named after S.A. Niyazov. Later, between 1999 and 2014, he held various posts at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan. He then served as a Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan until he was appointed as the Chairman in 2016. From 2017 till 2018 he was Director of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes. In 2018, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Mr. Chakiev held various positions at the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 2019 till July 2021. His most recent appointment is the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
